ChrisDalyz (pronounced crystalize) is an experimental audiovisual artist and immersive technologies specialist based in Byron Bay, Australia. From VFX for touring music acts, installations at festivals, music videos, and venue production, Chris uses sensors and data manipulation to create immersive multi-sensory environments.
I integrate curatorial vision with technical precision to design and manage immersive experiences within the creative economy. Drawing on a background in interactive gallery management and live production engineering, I translate artistic concepts into high-impact environments through strategic project management and meticulous technical execution.
Currently Operations Manager at Haven Gallery by day, Sound and Lighting Engineer at the Beach Hotel and Great Northern Hotel by night, all based in Byron Bay.

Cloud Bridge at Splendour in the Grass 2023
Working with Andy Forbes and Illuminart, I produced a light sculpture that showcased projection and pixel mapping techniques to create a seamless experience where the lights and video projections acted as one. I built a custom iPad app interface to control the whole lighting rig over Wifi, including accelerometer control of the moving-head light fixtures inside the sculpture.
Duzzi Daze Festival 2022
I ran the sound and lighting production for this boutique festival over Easter weekend 2022 at Smoke and Mirrors venue in Byron Bay. With the help of Andy Forbes and Teagan Cruse (The Little Poet Productions) we put on 60 bands on 4 stages over 2 days with an attendance of 1000.
Currently, I work at The Beach Hotel Byron Bay as a senior light and sound technician. I also do a lot of project-based freelancing including music production for several local neo-soul artists, as well as immersive lighting gigs for local events and venues.
Held at the Brunswick Picture House on the 29th of April 2023, with local promoter Teagan Cruse (Little Poet Productions). This light show was run with 2 projectors plus the in-house lighting system.
